2022 Tata Nexon EV launch date in India tipped
2022 Tata Nexon EV price in India (expected)
The Tata Nexon EV recently saw a price hike, which has made the hot-selling electric car costlier by Rs 25,000. Tata Motors increased prices on most of its products in its current portfolio. The 2022 Tata Nexon EV is likely to incorporate a higher specced model with a bigger battery which would deliver a longer range and more power and hence would be priced higher. A reasonable price bump of Rs 3 to 4 lakhs over the current generation models can be expected.
Overall pricing on the 2022 Tata Nexon EV models with comparable mechanicals to the current generation model might see a slight bump as well. This could be owed to newer features and minor design changes to the car. Despite the price bump, the 2022 Tata Nexon EV would rival the likes of the Hyundai Kona EV and MG ZS EV with its range.
2022 Tata Nexon EV specifications
The current generation Tata Nexon EV is a successful product due to its tough and rugged build, ample amount of space and practicality, a healthy list of features and low running and ownership costs. The Tata Nexon EV up for sale currently delivers an ARAI certified range of 312km from its 130bhp (245Nm) electric motor paired to a 30.2 kWh 320 V lithium polymer.
The Tata Nexon EV also gets modern luxuries like – an electric sunroof, projector headlamps with DRLs, leatherette seats, automatic temperature control with rear AC vents, auto wipers and headlamps, keyless entry and go, Harman-sourced 7-inch infotainment display with 8 speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital driver’s instrument console and 35 connected car features. The Tata Nexon EV is now also offered in the Dark Edition trim which has gained much popularity.
The new model is expected to build on the strengths of this existing car. Tata Motors might introduce some more luxury tidbits such as ventilated and powered driver seats and ventilated front passenger seats. The 2022 Tata Nexon EV will bring along some major mechanical updates; the biggest one being an option for a larger battery pack. The 2022 Tata Nexon EV is rumoured to get a new 40kWh battery pack that would lend the vehicle up to 400km of ARAI certified range and more power to cope with the added weight of the battery pack. The 2022 Tata Nexon EV was earlier spotted with a rear disc brake setup while testing on a public road. The car is also likely to get a new set of alloy wheels to suit its fresh avatar.
