4 reasons to buy and 2 reasons not to buy
Realme GT Neo 3T was finally launched in India last week after the brand kept fans waiting for months. The smartphone can be considered one of the cheapest phones with 80W fast charging support and Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, especially with bank offers during the upcoming first sale. The phone has a unique back panel with a racing flag-like design, which appears to have been inspired by GT cars. The Realme GT Neo 3T is a rebrand of the Realme Q5 Pro that debuted in China earlier this year.
Key Realme GT Neo 3T specifications include an E4 AMOLED 120Hz display, a 64MP primary camera sensor, and Snapdragon 870 SoC. We recently reviewed the phone and based on that, here are a few reasons you should buy this device during the first sale (and a few reasons to skip it).
4 Reasons to buy the Realme GT Neo 3T
Performance: The Realme GT Neo 3T is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, which is still a popular chipset and can surf through any tasks like social media browsing, media consumption, browsing the web, clicking/editing pictures and even high-end gaming as well. On Antutu V9.4 the Neo 3T has a score of 707,824 and Geekbench 5’s multi-core result is 2,553. The chipset is paired with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
Apps stay in the memory always and don’t reload. Switching between the apps is also smooth so is scrolling through the UI. Adding to the chipset is the 120Hz display, which will offer extremely smooth animations throughout the interface.
Good display: The Realme GT Neo 3T sports a 6.62-inch FHD+ E4 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 360Hz touch sampling rate, up to 1300nits brightness, 100 per cent DCI-P3 wide colour gamut, 1600-level dimming, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer. The display is easily the best part of the phone. It offers vibrant colours, deep blacks and impressive viewing angles.
In simple terms, the display on the Realme GT Neo 3T is a delight to those who consume media on a smartphone. The bezels around the panel are also slim so they don’t come in the way while watching media or playing games. The 120Hz refresh rate is also the smoothest with animations and when scrolling through the UI.
Good battery life: The Realme GT Neo 3T packs a 5000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. Battery life is yet another important aspect of the phone and the GT Neo 3T comes out with flying colours. The phone can last an entire day with day-to-day regular tasks like browsing, taking calls, clicking pictures and watching a couple of videos.
For when it can’t last through the day when you are gaming or using GPS navigation, there is the 80W fast charging support, which can top up the battery quickly.
Stereo speakers: The Realme GT Neo 3T comes with stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio. All of these result in a terrific audio listening experience be it with songs or while watching a movie. You will have a good experience while listening to songs or watching movies.
2 reasons not to buy Realme GT Neo 3T
Average backup cameras: The Realme GT Neo 3T comes with triple cameras on the back, with a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP secondary lens and a 2MP macro unit. While the primary sensor is pretty good for camera enthusiasts, the secondary ultra-wide-angle lens and macro unit are a bit of a disappointment. The resulting images regardless of the lighting conditions are pretty average at best. There’s no sharpness in the images and are not quite attractive to post on social media.
You are better off using the primary 64MP sensor. The detailing, dynamic range and colours of the images clicked by the Neo 3T are nothing out of the ordinary for the price but get the job done.
Not much of an upgrade over the Realme GT Neo 2: The Realme GT Neo 3T is not much of an upgrade over the Realme GT Neo 2. Both phones have a similar design with a punch-hole cutout and triple sensors on the back. They come with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, which is a bit letdown considering customers expect a better chipset or the latest one on the successor.
The phone also retains the 64MP primary camera. Realme should have at least offered better optics with OIS support. But for the price, the Realme GT Neo 3T is still a decent phone.
