5 Diwali photography tips that can help you capture the best possible photos using your smartphone
Diwali, the festival of lights, is when people decorate their houses, make rangolis, burst crackers, wear new clothes, prepare delicious cuisines, and meet with friends and family to celebrate their happiness
It’s the festival that we always want to capture to make them memorable and that’s obvious. But, there are a lot of myths floating around that we need a DSLR or mirrorless camera to capture good images and this Diwali we are going to break that myth by telling you five tips about capturing beautiful photos using your smartphone. Read on.
Before proceeding with the tips, there are a few things you should know about capturing photos in lowlight and with lots of lights. The entire idea is to get the lights right. If there’s less light try to compensate for it by any means possible and if there’s more light then try to cut it to get perfect exposure.
Lights and bokeh effect goes a long way
The lights and bokeh effect always compliment each other in photos. It’s a combination that will always make photos look better and enhance the entire image. So, enable Portrait mode on your smartphone and ask your family to stand in front of lights at a distance and capture the shot. The bokeh mode will blur the surroundings and background and give the entire photo an appealing feel.
Capture at the right moment
Waiting for the right moment is the key to getting a perfect shot. So, set the frame properly and try to avoid unwanted elements from your image.
Capturing fireworks
To capture fireworks, always use the Manual or Pro mode. This will allow you to take control of the shutter speed and exposure. So, choose a faster shutter speed and adjust the ISO accordingly to capture fireworks.
Avoid zoom
Most modern smartphones feature high-resolution sensors like 48MP, 50MP, 64MP or 108MP. Enable the full resolution mode and capture the image and crop it later. This helps with retaining the image quality.
Use tripod
Shooting low-light photos can be a tricky task even with Night mode turned on. So, use a tripod to capture blur-free photos.
