Security Keys for Apple ID
Apple is said to globally roll out the Security Keys for Apple ID feature for everyone this year. The upcoming feature is said to give an option to users to use hardware security keys to protect their account. Security keys will further strengthen the two-factor authentication offered by Apple. The company may not release its own hardware security keys and the feature is said to work with third-party security keys.
Web push notifications
Apple has earlier announced the iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 will begin opt-in support for web-based push notifications this year. This new feature will enable iPhone and iPad users to receive notifications from various websites via Safari.
Next-Generation CarPlay
Apple is also expected to bring the next-generation CarPlay with the upcoming iOS 16.4 update.
The company previewed the same at WWDC 2022. The new version supports multiple displays, widgets, climate controls and more.
Apple Pay Later
Apple introduced the Apple Pay Later feature last year at WWDC. Apple Pay Later allows users to divide a purchase bill into four equal payments that can be paid over six weeks. The service will be included with the Wallet app and will be made available for making online and in-app payments on the iPhone and iPad. The feature was initially supposed to come with iOS 16.3 but is now said to release with iOS 16.4.
Expanding Advanced Data Protection feature
Recently, Apple introduced an optional Advanced Data Protection feature. The feature expanded end-to-end encryption in additional iCloud areas such as iCloud Backups, Photos, Notes, Reminders, Voice Memos, and more. The feature is presently available in the US and is expected to reach other countries this year.
