Apple iPhone 13 top smartphone of 2022

The best-selling smartphone of 2022 was Apple’s iPhone 13, which comprised 28 per cent of all iPhone sales. It was the most popular smartphone in big markets like China, the US, the UK, Germany, and France. Also, from the time it came out in September 2021 until August 2022, the iPhone 13 was the top smartphone every month. After the iPhone 14 series came out, prices went down, which helped sell more iPhone 13s in developing markets. In 2022, the iPhone 13 sold twice as many units as the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which was the second best-selling smartphone.

In 2022, an iPhone series’ Pro Max model sold more units than its Pro and base models for the first time. It helped the iPhone 14 Pro Max reach number three on the list for 2022. The smartphone model was sold the most in September, October, and November of 2022. The report mentioned that early adopters and people who were upgrading to a higher iPhone version were the ones who bought the most iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The iPhone 14 Pro series is more appealing because it has big improvements like a dynamic island and a faster processor. The base model is almost the same as the one from last year, though.

Samsung captures only two spots in the list

Samsung took two slots on the list with its entry-level models, the Galaxy A13 and Galaxy A03, one more than the previous year. The two LTE smartphones were the only ones on the list. These models’ geographical contribution was more evenly distributed than in the case of iPhones.

The Samsung Galaxy A13, like its predecessor, continued to perform well despite offering appealing specifications for its pricing. The Caribbean and Latin America (CALA), followed by India, contributed the most to its sales. The Samsung Galaxy A03 was the most cheap smartphone on the list and the only one powered by UNISOC. The smartphone did well in developing regions such as CALA, the Middle East, and Africa (MEA).
