Apple iPhone 13 series may cost the same as iPhone 12: Report – Times of India
The prices of the upcoming Apple iPhone 13 series phones may be very similar to launch prices of the iPhone 12 series that was introduced last year if a new report by TrendForce is to be believed. Apple is expected to launch four new iPhone under the iPhone 13 series like last and may be likely called as iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The starting price of the iPhone 13 is expected to be the same at $699.
Interestingly, the report claimed that Apple may name the next iPhone as iPhone 12s and not iPhone 13. However, there’s no official word from Apple on the same. The next iPhones may have a smaller display notch. “Regarding the general outward appearance of the upcoming iPhone devices, the notch on top of the screen will shrink due to the decreased size of their sensor housings. Apart from this, other upgrades will mostly relate to the optimization of existing functions and features,” the report by TrendForce said.
As for the display, all the models will come with AMOLED screens while the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max is expected to offer 120Hz refresh rate. Earlier reports claimed that Apple may introduce the iPhone 13 series with 1TB storage option as well. However, the report rejected the claims and said that Apple will stick to similar storage capacities.
The report, however, supported rumours of iPhone 13 series having cameras with sensor-shift image stabilization technology. “For the Pro models, not only are their ultra-wide cameras now equipped with 6P lens (which is an upgrade over the previous generation), but they are also capable of autofocus functions. Notably, it should be pointed out that LiDAR scanners are available in the Pro models only,” it added.
