Krafton, the creator of PUBG Mobile, assured people that it would do things differently with Battlegrounds Mobile India, which included keeping the data of its Indian users safe and adhering to the Indian laws. However, yesterday, it came to light that Battlegrounds Mobile India has been communicating and sharing the data of its Indian players with servers in China, just like PUBG Mobile. Well, Krafton has now shared a statement with the media explaining its actions.

In the press release shared with us, Krafton said, “with privacy, player data safety, and protection being our top priority, Krafton is taking the concerns raised very seriously and has taken immediate, concrete actions to address this issue,” accepting that the recent discovery is true and that Battlegrounds Mobile India has been communicating with servers in China. In its defense, however, Krafton said, “Similar to other global mobile games and apps, Battlegrounds Mobile India also uses third-party solutions to provide unique game features. In the process of using these solutions, some game data was shared to third parties.” Moreover, Kraftong also conveys that it hasn’t violated any guidelines mentioned in its privacy policy. For those who are unaware, the Battlegrounds Mobile India website mentions that personal information will be stored and processed on servers located in India and Singapore. However, the game transfers your data to other countries and/or regions to operate the game service and/or to meet legal requirements.

Krafton assures it will take concrete steps to address the issue

That being said, Krafton assures that it is working to fully comply with the Indian laws and regulations before the official launch of Battlegrounds Mobile India. The press release says “Krafton is implementing the industry’s toughest standards for data security and is working to overcome any shortcomings throughout the Early Access testing period, for the official launch of BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA,” suggesting that Battlegrounds Mobile India would stop communicating with servers in China by the time the game officially launches in the country.
