Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event is just a day away and the company is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Buds 2 at the event. Now, ahead of the big unveil, Samsung has accidentally offered a sneak-peek (now deleted) of the long-rumoured Samsung Galaxy S21 FE on its Instagram handle. The device has made a surprise appearance in a back-to-school ad alongside the Galaxy Book laptop and what could be the Galaxy Buds Pro TWS earbuds. Interestingly, the sneak peek comes amidst rumours of the Galaxy S21 FE being postponed to October due to chip shortage.

The fact that the Insta post was deleted suggests the phone indeed is the Galaxy S21 FE and not the Galaxy S21. It remains to be seen what Samsung has in store for us. The image shows the back of the phone, with triple cameras and an LED flash. The camera module has the same colour as the rest of the panel instead of a dual-tone finish as seen on the Galaxy S21 models.

According to the leaked specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is said to sport a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper. The phone is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It runs on Android 11-based OneUI 3.1 custom skin out of the box and is said to pack a 4,500mAh battery with up to 45W fast-charging support (but a 25W adapter could be included in the box).

As for optics, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will have triple cameras on the back, with a large primary sensor, a depth sensor and a wide-angle lens. The phone could have a 10MP lens placed in the punch-hole cutout for selfies and video chats. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS and USB Type-C for charging. It may have an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is said to be available in Red, Orange, White, Lavender, Mint, and Navy options.
