iQOO 8 India launch timeline tipped: expected price, specs


iQOO 8 was recently launched in China and was expected to be released in India later this year. However, tipster Debayan Roy suggests that the phone will go on sale in India as early as next month itself. The iQOO 8 lineup will succeed the iQOO 7 in India. Earlier this month, ahead of the China launch date, a device registered under iQOO brand was found on the IMEI database carrying the model number I2019. It was then speculated to be the Indian variant of the iQOO 8. Now, the tipster claims that the iQOO 8 will be launching in India by mid-September. However, it is unclear as of now if both the iQOO 8 and the iQOO 8 Pro will go on sale in India.

iQOO 8, iQOO 8 Pro specifications and price

The iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro were launched as the flagship successors to the iQOO 7 in China on August 17th, 2021. The iQOO 8 comes with a 6.56-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz. The iQOO 8 Pro on the other hand uses a 6.78-inch AMOLED QHD+ 120Hz LTPO display with curved edges from Samsung. The vanilla iQOO 8 comes with the Snapdragon 888 SoC and is one-upped by the iQOO 8 Pro which gets the Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset with a higher clock speed. Both the processors from Qualcomm are fabricated using the latest 5nm manufacturing process and support 5G. Both the devices get come paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.

Optics on the Pro model is understandably more advanced. The iQOO 8 Pro houses a 50MP (Sony IMX766V) main with gimbal stabilization, 16MP telephoto, 48MP ultrawide triple camera unit. The vanilla iQOO 8 gets a 48MP (Sony IMX598) primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 13MP portrait lens. The iQOO 8 Pro features a larger 4,500mAh battery with 50 fast wireless charging and 10W reverse charging. The iQOO 8 gets a smaller 4,350mAh battery. Both devices fast charge at 120W. The iQOO 8 Pro is slightly heavier at 202.5grams while the iQOO 8 tips the scale at 199.9 grams. Both the devices support 5G, 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth v5.2, and a USB Type-C port.

The iQOO 8 range starts at RMB 3,799 (around Rs 43,600).
