Samsung tops smartwatch market in India: IDC
Samsung has emerged as biggest smartwatch manufacturer in India during the second quarter ending June 2021 (April-May-June), according to IDC Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker. According to the report, Samsung’s smartwatch shipments jumped 860% year-on-year growth, catapulting the company to number 1 position in the country.
The sales of Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3 Series in India reportedly helped Samsung reach the top spot in the market. Samsung ended the June quarter with 41.2% volume market share.
Samsung recently opened pre-bookings for Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic in India. Galaxy Watch 4 series is the company’s first exclusive smartwatch exclusively for Android users. Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic series are also the company’s first devices launched after the company announced partnership with Google earlier this year.
Galaxy Watch4 series comes with industry’s first body composition capability, which lets users take complete ownership of their health.
