NEW DELHI: Google recently released the final beta version of the upcoming Android 12 operating system. Now an online report suggests that the company will start rolling out the official Android 12 update on October 4. According to a report by XDA Developers, Google Pixel phones will get the official Android 12 update on October 4.
XDA Developers’ Mishaal Rahman has posted an internal Google document that indicates that the tech giant will publish the source code for its latest operating system on October 4 on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Going by the Google tradition, the company is also expected to roll out the same on Pixel phones on October 4.
Android 12 features
Google’s latest operating system is said to come with various privacy improvements and design changes. Android 12 comes with a privacy dashboard that offers a single view into your permissions settings as well as what data is being accessed, how often and by which apps. It also lets you easily revoke app permissions right from the dashboard.
The company also claims that with Android 12 the smartphones will become faster and more responsive. Google has reduced the CPU time needed for core system services by up to 22% and reduced the use of big cores by the system server by up to 15% in Android 12 OS.
Android 12 also comes with a dedicated ‘One-handed’ mode that lets you use large phones easily with one hand.
Apart from this, with Android 12 Google also aims to change the look of your Android smartphone. The latest operating system brings the new Material You UI design. The interface comes with new colour options, animations, tile designs and more.
