First, let’s take a look at the pricing of the two smartphones. The iQOO Z5 5G price in India starts at Rs 23,990 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at Rs 26,990. 

On the other hand, the Realme GT Master Edition is a little bit more expensive and starts at Rs 25,999 for the base model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Realme sells two more variants of this phone, one with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, which costs Rs 27,999, and the other with 256GB storage for Rs 29,999. 

As you can see, the iQOO Z5 5G is slightly cheaper and offers more RAM than the Realme GT Master Edition.

In the design department, the Realme GT Master Edition is surely more special than the iQOO Z5 5G. The Master Edition Voyager Grey variant has been designed by Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa, and features a suitcase look. It will definitely stand out among all the other smartphones out there. The phone is available in three color options, Voyager Grey, Luna White, and Cosmos Black.

The iQOO Z5 5G has a normal-looking back panel design, which is accented by a large rear camera module. It gets a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It is available  The phone features a punch-hole cutout 6.67-inch display with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The Realme GT Master Edition features a 6.4-inch AMOLED FHD+ display, which also offers a 120Hz refresh rate, but comes with a higher 360Hz touch sampling rate, and supports a 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut. It also gets an in-display fingerprint scanner. 

As displays go, the one on the Realme GT Master Edition is slightly better than the one on the iQOO Z5 5G, at least on paper.

Now let’s take a look at the specifications that both these phones have to offer. As mentioned in the beginning, both the iQOO Z5 and the Realme GT Master Edition are powered by the Snapdragon 778G chipset. This processor offers 5G connectivity, good mid-range performance, and is paired with the Adreno 670 GPU. The iQOO Z5 gets up to 12GB RAM, whereas the Realme maxes out at 8GB RAM. However, the Realme GT Master Edition features DRE RAM support of up to 4GB, which improves multitasking performance. Both devices get up to 256GB onboard storage and also come with a microSD card slot.

The iQOO Z5 5G features a triple rear camera setup with a primary 64-megapixel Samsung sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide unit, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. It gets a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. Realme’s GT Master Edition also features a triple rear camera unit with a 64-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 2-megapixel macro unit. It features a higher 32-megapixel front camera. 

Coming to the batteries, the iQOO Z5 5G has a larger 5,000mAh battery compared to the 4,300mAh cell on the Realme GT Master Edition. The Z5 supports 44W fast charging, whereas the Realme features 65W fast charging technology. 

iQOO Z5 5G vs Realme GT Master Edition: verdict

The iQOO Z5 5G offers more value for money as you get more physical RAM, a slightly larger display, and a bigger battery. It’s also cheaper than the Realme GT Master Edition. However, if you like the unique look of the Realme phone, then that’s still a good phone for the price. You get faster charging, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and DRE RAM. We think the iQOO Z5 5G is a better deal though.
