ColorOS 12 for OnePlus 9RT 5G confirmed ahead of launch | 91mobiles.com

OnePlus 9RT is scheduled to launch in China later today and the company has already revealed quite a good deal about the phone. Now, ahead of the announcement, the OnePlus 9RT is confirmed to ship with the latest ColorOS 12 out of the box. The new UI was unveiled in China and globally recently and brings a host of new features, including Android 12 privacy and security features, wallpaper-based UI theming, animation booster, and much more. This doesn’t come as a surprise since the OnePlus 9 lineup from earlier this year, though launched with OxygenOS globally, came with ColorOS 11 in China. It’s quite obvious a follow-up model will come with the same OS.

Furthermore, there are chances the OnePlus 9RT may debut globally (probably only in India) with ColorOS 12 and not OxygenOS. For those unaware, OnePlus recently integrated its OxygenOS codebase with ColorOS, and the first phone to come with the new UI was the OnePlus Nord 2. However, with the upcoming OnePlus 9RT, the company might introduce the phone with ColorOS 12 directly. Both OnePlus and OPPO are also set to launch a new unified OS sometime in the first half of 2022.

What are OnePlus 9RT specifications

OnePlus 9RT sports a 6.55-inch FHD+ E4 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 600Hz touch sampling rate, Corning Gorilla Glass layer, and punch-hole cutout. It is said to have triple cameras on the back, with a 50MP primary Sony IMX766 sensor, an 8MP or 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro/monochrome lens. It runs on ColorOS 12 out of the box and packs a 4,500mAh battery with 65W 65W fast-charging support.

OnePlus 9RT is already confirmed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G mobile chipset paired with Adreno 660 GPU. It is said to pack up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. There is a 16MP lens on the front for selfies and video chats and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. We should know more details later today.
