Amazon Black Friday deals 2021: current deals and what to expect

Amazon’s Black Friday 2021 is still a few weeks away, but as you may have noticed, deals have started showing up already as we enter Black November. And, on top of that, a successful shopping includes successful preparation and knowing what to expect and where. This article aims to help you better prepare to have your money well spent when the time comes. In here, we will discuss the Black Friday deals we saw last year and what to expect this year on Amazon, and, as early Black Friday deals are starting to show up, we will also add the best ones here for you.

The cool thing about Amazon Black Friday deals is that you don’t necessarily need to be a Prime member to benefit from these deals. However, if you’re one of Amazon’s Prime Members, you may be able to score some pretty fast shipping and maybe some exclusive deal during the shopping event.

Amazon has announced some early Black Friday deals now live

The big retailer is not shy of offering gorgeous deals even though Black Friday is still a few weeks away. Right now, Amazon is offering some great deals ahead of Black Friday and the big holiday shopping, and we are eager to share them with you. The price tag of most products here remind us of Black Friday, so if one of these is something you’ve been thinking to buy, you may like these offers.

Amazon now offers generous deals on the OnePlus 9 Pro models, on some Motorola phones, on headphones and wearables.

Black Friday 2021 Amazon deals on phones

As we all know, the Black Friday sale is the time to get the best deals on phones in the year. Last year and the holiday shopping spree were no exception: we saw generous deals for Amazon Black Friday on the hottest phones at the time. Let’s explore what we had last year and what could that mean for this year.

First off, let’s get the iPhone Black Friday deals at Amazon out of the way. Unfortunately, iPhones did not get big discounts during the shopping event, at least not on Amazon. You could find refurbished units with some discount, but nothing too substantial. The iPhone 13 series is now out as well, but not expect dramatic price cuts on it during Amazon Black Friday times.

The same can be said about the almighty Pro Max:

Samsung Galaxy phones had better Amazon Black Friday discounts. Last year, the big retailer offered $200 off on the Galaxy S20 series, a generous $250 off on the Galaxy Note 20 series, and a good $150 discount on the hot-at-the-time Galaxy S20 FE.

This year, we expect to see discounts ranging from $150-$250 on the premium Galaxy S21 series, and hopefully, the foldables will be discounted as well.

In the affordable Galaxy phones department, Amazon didn’t shy away from generosity as well. During Black Friday last year, you could save $150 on the already quite budget-friendly Galaxy A71, and the older Galaxy S10 Lite. This year, we hope to see the same thing for the Galaxy A52 and A72.

Other phones that were discounted during Amazon’s Black Friday sale were the OnePlus 8 Pro, which had a generous $200 off offer, and the Pixel 5, which had a $50 off Black Friday discount.

We expect this year around $100-$200 discount on the flagship OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro.

The Sony Xperia 1 scored among the highest discounts on Amazon at the time: a $350 off, no strings attached deal. For reference, at the time this phone was a one-year-old flagship device by Sony.

The budget-friendly Moto G series from Motorola saw discounts of around $70. These models are regularly cheap, so a $70 discount made them almost a steal. If you want to get yourself a Motorola phone with a great battery life for cheap this year, Black Friday sales at Amazon seems to be among the best opportunity. The Motorola Edge was $300 off, mind you!

2021 Amazon Black Friday deals on smartwatches: what to expect

The Galaxy Watch 4 series are already out, ready for purchase, and so is the Apple Watch Series 7. However, don’t expect anything drastic of a price cut for the Series 7 as it is quite new, and generally Apple devices don’t see as much discounts as other brands’ devices during the shopping season.

Here are the Amazon Black Friday deals we saw last year, and what holiday discounts we expect to see this year during the shopping season. So, if you’re looking for gift ideas, you might get inspired here.

As we already mentioned, Amazon does not offer the best Apple deals during big shopping events. So, in terms of Apple Watch Black Friday discounts, don’t expect anything great. Nevertheless, refurbished units will most likely be discounted, so if you would like a used and renewed Apple Watch, you may be able to score a great deal during Black Friday.

If you’re more on the Android side, things are looking better for you in terms of Amazon Black Friday deals. The premium Galaxy Watch 3 had a $60 discount, and although this is not a major discount by any means, it is still a pretty good one. A better, $70 off offer was for the more affordable Galaxy Watch Active 2.

There were also $50 savings on smartwatches by Fitbit and Garmin on Amazon during the Black Friday sales. Budget smartwatches were also discounted.

Amazon Black Friday deals 2021 on tablets and iPad: expectations

Curiously enough, Amazon Black Friday sales were pretty generous for iPad buyers. A $50-$100 off was what you could get during the shopping event, and it was not on all models; however, this is way better than nothing. iPad Air models had pretty good discounts. This year, we expect a similar situation to unfold for the iPad Pro, the iPad mini, and the regular iPad as well.

Samsung Galaxy Tab devices are also likely to see an Amazon Black Friday discount. We expect a $50-$100 discount on some Galaxy Tab models. Last year, the relatively cheap Galaxy Tab A was discounted by $50, while the flagship-grade tablet, the Galaxy Tab S7, was $540 at the time.

Affordable Fire tablets by Amazon got pretty generous discounts during Black Friday as well.

Amazon Black Friday 2021 deals on headphones and earbuds

If you’re an audiophile and into premium over-the-ear headphones, Amazon Black Friday presented us with a pretty sweet deal last year that shaved off 50% of the Sennheiser HD 450BT Bluetooth headphones. You could also save $100-$150 on other models by Sennheiser, and Shure. JBL headphones got the whopping 50% discount as well.

In regards to Samsung and Apple buds, the price drops were more modest, but still, worth noting. The Galaxy Buds+ were $40 off, the Galaxy Buds Live were 18% off, while Apple’s AirPods saw discounts ranging between $30 and $80.

Amazon Black Friday 2021 deals on speakers

In terms of speakers, Black Friday deals on the retailer give you a great opportunity to get a great speaker with a big discount. Usually Amazon Echo and other Amazon devices are discounted tremendously during the Black Friday, and so are other Bluetooth and smart speakers, such as models by Sony, JBL, and others. For the Amazon Echo, a $30 discount (or a bit more, depending on the model) is expected for the Black Friday sale, while for other Black Friday Bluetooth speaker deals, you can check out our dedicated article when the holiday shopping begins.

While before online retailers were separating themselves from physical stores by offering discounts on Cyber Monday, the Monday after the Black Friday sale, now, they’re pretty much double-dipping, with deals available on both days and, of course, in between and before that as well. Basically, it’s a whole savings season.

This year shouldn’t be much different than last year (at least in that regard), with major discounts on some of the most popular consumer electronics. Such as:
  • Smartphones
  • Tablets
  • Laptops
  • TV
  • Headphones
  • Smartwatches
  • Consoles

The pricier the item, the bigger discount you can expect. Common non-Black Friday discounts are usually around 20%, so anything that reaches 50% or more is a great deal. Keep in mind that some third-party sellers on Amazon might hike the prices in advance so that the Black Friday deals look better than what they actually are.

If you already have plans for specific purchases, here are some shopping tips for you: you can bookmark the items and note the prices, perhaps even fill out a spreadsheet with all the info in one spot. This way, you’ll be able to act fast and have a good idea if the deals are really worth it. That will also help with your impulse control if you feel like you might buy something you don’t really need or want.

Keep an eye out for Lightning Deals. Those usually offer great discounts but only last a few hours or until the stock runs out.

As a reminder, Black Friday sales this year falls on November 26, so if you’re planning to go on a shopping spree, make sure you’re ready by then.
