New Windows 11 button to make screen sharing easier – Times of India

Microsoft has started to roll out Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22499 to the Dev Channel. The company has also released new ISO images of the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview build for a clean installation. The build brings in a few new features along with performance fixes. As per the build’s support page, the operating system will now allow users to share the content on their screen directly from the taskbar.
During a call through a communication platform, users will see a button to share the screen when they hover over apps running on the taskbar. Users will also see options to stop sharing and to choose another window as well by hovering over the apps on the taskbar. As of now, the feature is only available with Microsoft Teams but other platforms such as Zoom and Slack can also build the functionality into their apps.
The feature will only be available to a subset of Windows Insider with Microsoft Teams for work or school installed. This means that not everyone will see this feature right away with their Teams calls. Last week, the company added the ability to quickly mute and unmute active meeting calls right from the taskbar. It is expected that the features will be available to all users soon.
Apart from this feature, the Clock app now supports signing in with Microsoft work and school accounts with the latest build.
This week, Microsoft also released a new Windows 11 update, labeled KB5007215, to the public. The update fixes the issue where the measured and functional L3 cache latency on a few AMD processors increased as much as three times. It also addresses the issue where features such as Snipping Tool, Touch Keyboard, Emoji panel and others failed to load due to a certificate that expired on October 31. To install the update, you go to Settings > Windows Update or you can download it from Microsoft Update Catalog.
