Bargain BT broadband deal includes Sky TV channels and Netflix for £71 less than Sky Q

Sky TV has been beaten at its own game as rival BT is currently offering a bargain deal that packs all of the exclusive paid-for Sky TV channels you know and love, plus fibre broadband speeds, and a full Netflix account for one monthly fee. Compared to a similar bundle from Sky, BT is actually a cheaper way to watch your favourite Sky TV channels. Yes, really! The money-saving offer is one of BT’s new flexible TV packages, which bundles fibre broadband, Netflix and access to Sky TV channels via NOW passes all into one single, handy bill. When looking at Sky and BT’s comparable bundles, the BT deal offers a saving of just over £71. Woah!

As mentioned above, the deal in question is BT’s Entertainment + Fibre 2 bundle, that includes access to Netflix’s vast library of boxsets and movies, the NOW Entertainment Pass (which includes Sky Atlantic, Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, and more), all Freeview channels, as well as BT exclusive channel AMC (the network behind The Walking Dead and other hit US shows) and broadband with an average 67Mbps speed.

This usually costs £48.99 per month, but BT has cut the price to just £40.99 per month for the first three months. There’s also a £20 upfront fee.

The comparable bundle from Sky offers Sky TV, broadband and Netflix access for £50 a month with a £49 set-up fee. The BT deal runs for 24 months, while the Sky plan runs for 18 months. However, comparing how much both plans would cost over the length of the 18 month period the Sky deal runs, the BT package offers a saving of £71.18 in total (£42.18 saving on monthly fees and £29 saving on the set-up cost).

There are a few important differences to point out before you rush out to sign up though. Sky’s deal, while more expensive, does boast much better download speeds – 145Mbps compared to BT’s 67Mbps. That’s almost twice as fast and invaluable for anyone regularly making video calls, downloading in Ultra HD, and more.

While Sky’s package will also include access to the award-winning Sky Q box, whereas with BT you’ll just be streaming Sky content with NOW – either on-demand or tuning into a live feed. This also means you won’t be able to schedule recordings on Sky Atlantic if you’re watching with a NOW pass. And you won’t get access to Ultra HD, which is possible via the Sky Q box (albeit at an extra cost) but not via the streaming option, NOW.
