samsung: Samsung halts One UI 4 update for Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3, here’s why
Samsung recently released the One UI 4 stable version for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3. It rolled out of its beta state and was expected to be ready for a wider release, but unfortunately some issues have surfaced and Samsung had to suspend the new update for its Galaxy Z series phones.
Android Authority reports that several users of these phones have reported about the issues that came up post the One UI 4 update was installed. The issues that the users in South Korea faced after the update included the device being bricked.
Some Galaxy Z series phone users have complained that their devices were going into recovery mode after installing the update. Other users faced some apps not working, screen flickering, dark mode, Dual Messenger not working and even slow performance.
Some of the Galaxy Z series phone users have also experienced camera issues. Images were getting automatically deleted from the phone gallery and there were some phones that delivered poor quality audio recording. Others have complained that their phone displays were stuck at a constant 60Hz refresh rate while there were others who reported that their camera app had stopped working after installing the update.
Samsung has to suspend this release only until a temporary fix is developed. The Android 12 update is said to be riddled with a number of problems as critical bugs have been encountered. We can hope that Samsung identifies the source of the problems and soon comes out with a fix. The South Korean tech giant’s latest update is the One UI 4.0 based on Android 12.
