OnePlus suspends OxygenOS 12 rollout to OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro
OnePlus has reportedly stopped the rollout of OxygenOS 12 to OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro. The decision comes days after users complained about facing issues after updating their devices to OxygenOS 12.
“We are aware of the issues caused by the OxygenOS 12 update and our software team is fixing them. We will suspend this software update and roll out a new iteration as soon as possible”, the company said in a statement given to Android Police.
OnePlus rolled out the Android 12 update for OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro smartphones. The software update came with the new OS skin — OxygenOS 12. It introduced multiple features like reworked icons, adjustable dark mode, Work Life Balance 2.0 and more to the handsets.
However, users complained that the software update is extremely buggy and does not offer the promised features. Users also said that the company has removed some of the existing features. Owners of OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro who installed the update also revealed that they can’t customize the icons, status bar, battery icons and more.
As said by the company, it has currently suspended the rollout and will soon bring a fix to the issue with OxygenOS 12. For the users who have already installed the update, a Community Expert on the OnePlus forum has shared an OxygenOS 12-to-OxygenOS 11 rollback guide.
It is a local OTA update and users who are facing problems can install the update. The post offers download links for users with rollback packages for Indian, North American, and European markets.
