WhatsApp working on new animated emojis for Android and iOS users – Times of India

WhatsApp is reportedly working on new animating heart emojis for Android and iOS users. Currently, when users send a red heart emoji, they see an animation where the heart appears to be beating. The animation effect is only limited to the red colour heart emoji but a new report by WABetaInfo suggests that the Facebook owned platform is working to add the animated effect to more emojis. According to the report, the platform will soon introduce the same animation for all other heart emojis. WhatsApp currently has nine heart emojis including the animated one.
WABetaInfo has also shared a video showing how the new animated heart emojis will look like. The feature is already available for WhatsApp web and Windows app users. It is expected that the company will roll out the new animated emojis with upcoming beta updates for Android and iOS devices.
WhatsApp also recently added new emojis for its users on Windows platform with the beta update. With beta UWP 2.2148.3.7, the company has added new emojis on the platform. These emojis were already available on Android and iOS devices. With the update, the Facebook owned platform now also allows users to create skin-tone combinations for couples emojis on the Universal Windows Platform app too. Recently, the feature was also rolled out for Android users with the beta update. Previously, the feature was only available for Apple iPhone users.
Users can also change the skin tone combination for couple emojis multiple times. WhatsApp rolled out the new Windows app a few weeks ago. The app looks similar to the web version of the platform and it is available to download on the Microsoft Store. It is based on Universal Windows Platform (UWP) which means it can sync in the background and receive notifications even when it is not running.
