Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro key specs revealed ahead of launch

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Xiaomi 12 series smartphones on December 28 and ahead of the launch, the company has revealed key specifications of the upcoming devices. The Xiaomi 12 series is rumoured to comprise four smartphones – Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12 Ultra, and the Xiaomi 12X. According to numerous reports, the company will only launch the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro this month and the other two models are rumoured to arrive early next year. The company has shared a few teaser posters of the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro in Weibo, revealing details about the devices.

As per the teaser images, the devices will feature Surge P1 chips for power management. The posters have also revealed that the vanilla Xiaomi 12 will feature a 32MP selfie camera and the Xiaomi 12 Pro will have a quad-speaker system tuned by Harmon Kardon. The company has also confirmed that the devices will be powered by the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.

Xiaomi 12 rumoured specifications

Xiaomi 12 is rumoured to have a 6.2-inch curved FHD+ AMOLED display. The display is said to have a refresh rate of 120Hz. For security, the device will likely sport a fingerprint scanner. The camera setup on the smartphone is said to consist of a 50MP primary camera customised from Samsung or Sony along with an 13MP ultra-wide angle paired with a periscopic and a 32MP telephoto lens. At the front, the device is rumoured to come with a 20MP camera for selfies and video calls.

Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM and a 256GB of internal storage. The device is said to pack a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. The smartphone is rumoured to run on Android 12 based MIUI 13 out of the box.

The camera setup on the smartphone is said to consist of a 50MP primary camera customised from Samsung or Sony along with an 50MP ultra-wide angle paired with a periscopic and a 50MP telephoto lens. At the front, the device is rumoured to come with a 32MP camera for selfies and video calls.
