Samsung Galaxy S22 series tipped to get flagship Snapdragon chipset in India
Samsung has confirmed that it is hosting a Galaxy Unpacked event next month. Although the tech giant has not revealed the exact date of the event, it confirmed that it will bring ‘the most noteworthy S series device ever’. As per the rumours, Samsung will host the event on February 9 where it will launch the Samsung Galaxy S22 series. The company will also launch its flagship Exynos chipset at the event. The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is rumoured to comprise three smartphones – Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung Galaxy S22+, and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Just like previous years, it is rumoured that the company will launch its flagship smartphones with different chipsets for different markets. With the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, the chipsets are said to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200. Although the Indian market has been receiving the flagship variants with Exynos chipsets for the past few years, this time around the country is tipped to get the smartphones with Snapdragon SoCs. According to a Tweet by tipster Dohyun Kim, the Exynos variants will be shipped to fewer regions compared to previous generations and that includes India too.
Samsung Galaxy S22 series rumoured specifications
As per previous reports, the Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphone will feature 6.06-inch dynamic AMOLED display. For context, the Samsung Galaxy S21 comes with a 6.2-inch display. The Samsung Galaxy S22+ is rumoured to have a 6.5-inch dynamic AMOLED display and the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to sport LTPO Dynamic AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution. The displays of the smartphones are rumoured to have refresh rate up to 120Hz.
The Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ are rumoured to feature a triple rear camera setup, with a 50MP primary lens, a 10MP telephoto lens with support for 3x optical zoom and a 12MP ultra wide angle camera. For selfies and video calls, the smartphones are rumoured to sport a 10MP camera at the front as seen on Samsung Galaxy S21 and Samsung Galaxy S21+. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to have 108MP + 12MP + 10MP triple camera setup at the back and a 32MP selfie shooter at front.
