Here are some of the phones Xiaomi may launch in 2022

A new leak from Digital Chat Station reveals that Xiaomi might launch several new smartphones in 2022. The leak does not reveal the exact model name of the alleged upcoming smartphones from the company, but it does reveal the codenames of the phones.

For starters, the list carries codenames — munch, rubens, matisse and fog, which according to the report are models of the upcoming Redmi K50 series phones that Xiaomi is expected to launch sometime in February 2022.

These codenames reportedly stand for Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, Redmi K50 Pro Plus and Redmi K50 Gaming Edition.

The Redmi K50 series is already confirmed to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processors in the top two variants. Digital Chat Station, however, also speculates that the other two models might also arrive with Qualcomm’s latest-generation SoC.

Other code names in the leaked list are inspired by Marvel Universe and named Thor and Loki. While it’s not certain which two phones Xiaomi is calling Thor and Loki, it is expected to feature a 200MP camera sensor.

Next on the list are Light and Thunder which is most probably the foldable smartphones from Xiaomi, according to the leak. Xiaomi is already rumoured to be working on Mi Mix Flip and Xiaomi Fold 2 smartphones.

At last there are zizhan, zijin, taoyao and opal. They are reportedly Redmi Note 12 series phones.

While these are some interesting reveals through the leak, it is advisable to take this with a pinch of salt.
