How to temporarily limit someone from commenting on your Instagram posts
Instagram allows its users to temporarily limit unwanted comments and messages from other accounts. These could be both accounts that have either started following you in the last week or that don’t follow you at all. The feature, Instagram says, is useful when a user feels he/she is harassed online.
At first, the limit period can go up to four weeks, but if needed can be extended for as long a time as one wants. Also, it must be noted that accounts that one chose to limit can still comment on their posts. However, these comments will be hidden unless approved by the user. Similarly, messages sent by these limited accounts will also be hidden. Users will have the option to either ignore or review these comments and messages.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to temporarily limit others from commenting on your Instagram posts:
Go to Instagram and tap on the profile or your profile picture
Tap more options in the top right, then tap Settings.
Tap Privacy, then tap Limits.
Now, tap Continue at the bottom.
Accounts that aren’t following you and Recent followers are automatically on, if you don’t want to limit one of these types of accounts, tap switch on to turn it off.
You can also choose the time for which you wish to limit unwanted comments. To do so, tap Limit for and scroll to the number of days or weeks that you’d like to limit comments and messages for, then tap Set reminder. Tap Turn on to confirm.
