These WhatsApp users are getting message reactions feature – Times of India

Meta-owned WhatsApp is finally releasing message reactions to certain beta testers on WhatsApp beta for Android. According to a report by WaBetaInfo – the website that keeps tracks of new and upcoming WhatsApp features, message reactions feature is available in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.3. The update comes with 6 reactions. These include Like, Love, Laugh, Surprised, Sad, and Thanks.
WhatsApp message reactions are similar to the message reaction feature on Facebook and Instagram. Users on these platforms can react to a specific message with emojis. WhatsApp’s message reactions feature was reported seven months ago in August 2021.
Earlier this year in February, the instant messaging app reportedly tested the feature for its web users. WaBetaInfo then reported that WhatsApp has rolled out a new update for the desktop client through the official beta channel. The update brings the version of the platform to 2.2207.0.
As the feature is still under development, not much is known about the new feature. WhatsApp has not officially revealed any details about this feature yet.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a feature that will allow users to create polls in group chats. According to a WaBetaInfo report, WhatsApp recently submitted a new beta update for its iOS app, bringing the version up to 22.6.0.70. The beta update revealed that the Meta-owned messaging platform is developing a group polls feature. The report says that WhatsApp users will be able to create a poll for group chats. They will then be asked to enter the poll question and send it to a WhatsApp group. Both the question asked and answers will be end-to-end encrypted. At present, group polls are available in messaging apps like Facebook Messenger, Telegram and others.
