Google Pixel foldable may feature smaller cover display, expected to launch later this year – Times of India
NEW DELHI: Google is expected to launch its first foldable smartphone this year. Likely to be called Google Pixel Fold, the company is said to launch the smartphone later this year. Now a new leak has surfaced online revealing some details about the upcoming foldable smartphone of the company.
According to display industry analyst, Ross Young the upcoming foldable smartphone from Google is said to have a smaller cover display as compared to the Galaxy Fold 4. The Google Pixel Fold is tipped to come with a smaller 5.8-inch cover screen with a wider aspect ratio.
The tipster further reveals that the foldable smartphone from Google is expected to be powered by the company’s own custom-made Tensor chipset. The smartphone is also said to ditch the 50MP Samsung GN1 sensor which the tech giant used in the Pixel 6 series. Instead of the Samsung sensor, the foldable Google smartphone is likely to have a 12.2MP Sony IMX363 sensor, which is also supposed to be included in the Google Pixel 6a. Google Pixel Fold is also said to come equipped with a 12MP Sony IMX386 ultra-wide camera and an 8MP Sony IMX355s front-facing camera.
Apart from the specifications, the leak also revealed that the foldable Google smartphone may launch in Q4, 2022.
Google Pixel Fold: Expected specifications
Google is expected to launch its foldable Pixel smartphone with a 7.6-inch inward folding display. The smartphone is said to sport the same design as the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.
It is also expected to run the latest Android 12 operating system which the company unveiled at its annual developer conference this year.
