Tinder wants you to ‘work’ harder at getting that date, here’s how – Times of India
Online dating platform Tinder recently launched the Desk Mode which will enable desktop swiping for all users. In case you plan to use the office time to find your new match, the new version is also designed to hide your Desk Mode activity from your boss and colleagues if they happen to be looking over your shoulders.
In a recent survey, Tinder asked 1,000 users of its service in the US if they would like to use the dating platform while at work. The people surveyed were in the age group of 18-35. As per the results, 30% said that they preferred swiping during a meeting, while 47% said that they“would like” to match and chat during company time, says a report by CNET.
Tinder has also taken up the idea enthusiastically. The Desk Mode may “ease the transition” when it comes to Hybrid work culture which involves working from the office for a few days in a week, said Tinder.
So, if you are interested in checking out Desk Mode, you need to log in to your profile on the dating platform’s website. There will be a briefcase icon in the top right corner of the display which can display an “updated and official-looking report with a chart labelled ‘meeting notes’”, in case someone happens to look over your shoulder, said the report. But since Desk Mode has been announced now and is far from being a secret, aren’t the bosses already aware of the potential dating games of the employees from the office? Are the office goers up for that challenge?
