How Apple paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II – Times of India

Apple has honoured Queen Elizabeth II by updating its homepage with a picture of her younger years and a memorial message. The message appears on the right side of the queen’s photo in which she is wearing the crown and reads: “In Memorium Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022″. The photograph of Queen Elizabeth featured on Apple’s website was taken by Dorothy Wilding in 1952, as per a report by Macrumors.
The queen passed away yesterday at the age of 96. Apple CEO Tim Cook also expressed his condolences on Twitter in a post where he said: “There is nothing more noble than to devote your life to the service of others. We stand with the people of the UK and Commonwealth in honoring the life and dedication to duty of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. May she rest in peace.”

Queen Elizabeth II is England’s longest-reigning monarch, her reign going on for over 70 years. She breathed her last at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
The queen’s son, Prince Charles, is now the successor to the British throne and is now crowned King Charles III. He reportedly said in a statement that Queen Elizabeth II’s death will be “deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.”
