After iPhone SE, Apple hikes the price of iPad Air 2022 and 6th generation iPad Mini | Digit

After increasing the price of the iPhone SE earlier this week, Apple has now turned towards two iPad models, hiking their piece in India. Going forward, the iPad Air 2022 and the iPad Mini (6th generation) will be available at a revised price, which is about 6% more than the original price of the models in the country. However, the company has not given any reason behind revising the prices yet. Let’s find out the new cost of the iPad Air 2022 and the iPad Mini (6th generation) in India. 

iPad Air 2022 new India price

Initially, the 64GB Apple iPad Air 2022 (WiFi only) was priced at Rs. 54,900. However, after the recent hike, Apple India has increased the price of the M1-powered tablet to Rs. 59,990. Upon doing the math, this turns out to be a 9.10% hike. Further, the cost of 64GB iPad Air 2022 (W-Fi + LTE) has been increased from Rs. 68,900 to Rs. 74,900. Interestingly, that comes out to be an 8.7% hike. Similarly, the 256GB models of both the WiFi and the WiFi + LTE models are more expensive than before. 

iPad Mini (6th generation) new India price

After the hike, the 64GB iPad Mini (6th generation) WiFi-only model is available in the country for Rs. 49,990, a 6% increase from the original price. On the other hand, the WiFi + Cellular model is now slated at Rs. 64,900, up from Rs. 60,900. One thing to note here is that there is no fixed percentage of increase in the prices of the iPad Air 2022 and the iPad Mini (6th generation). 

Why did Apple increase the price of its devices?

Although the company has not specified the reason behind this hike, it seems as if the fluctuating currency conversion rates are at play here. For instance, one Dollar was equivalent to Rs. 75.94 on March 18, 2022, the day iPad Air 2022 was released. However, in October 2022, the Rupee dipped in comparison to the Dollar, with one dollar being equal to more than Rs. 82, which is a rise of 9%.
