New Google Camera app rolling out for more Pixel phones
Google Camera app new update: Expected availability
As per the report, the new version of the Google Camera app was spotted on the Pixel 6 Pro. This update is expected to roll out via the Play Store to all currently supported Pixel phones, including the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4a.
Google Camera app new update: What is new
The new version of the Google Camera app includes a similar suite of changes that arrived with the Pixel 7 series. Pixel users can now double-tap the viewfinder in the app to switch between 1x and 2x zoom. Moreover, Google has also added the Familiar Faces feature which has made a comeback after it was disabled by the company in May.
Google Camera’s new version also makes it easier for users to choose where the pictures are saved. Users can long-pressing the preview of their last photo to check whether it is saved in the gallery or some other Locked Folder.
However, this new update has missed out on a feature which is available for the Pixel 7 series. It is the ability to fine-tune the amount of exposure time taken for Night Sight shots. Pixel 7 users can adjust it by tapping an indicator located to the right of the zoom slider. Meanwhile, other Pixel devices use an automatic timer for Night Sight.
