A Galaxy Z Flip 4 rival?
TL;DR
- Oppo might be days away from launching its first flip phone.
- The rumored Oppo Find N2 Flip has also allegedly appeared in a leaked video.
An alleged video of the device leaked on Weibo today (via TechGoing), showing a clamshell clad in a thick protective case, possibly to hide the Oppo branding ahead of the phone’s official reveal. However, the UI has all the markings of Color OS, and the device itself doesn’t resemble anything on the market yet.
The display has a centrally-placed punch hole camera, while the back appears to have two sensors. The phone sports a sizeable secondary screen that stretches vertically as opposed to the horizontal screens on current Samsung and Motorola clamshells. The leaked video isn’t very clear, so it’s hard to say whether the display has a visible crease or not.
Oppo hasn’t officially teased the phone yet, but the Find N2 Flip is expected to appear at the company’s annual Inno Day tech conference. Last year, Oppo scheduled Inno Day for December 14 and launched its first commercial foldable phone — the Find N — on the event’s second day. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Find N2 Flip will accompany Oppo’s second-gen Find N2 foldable at Ino Day 2022.
Oppo Find N2 Flip specs
Rumors have it that the Oppo Find N2 Flip will likely feature the Dimensity 9000 chip, Mediatek’s answer to Qualcomm’s 800 series SoCs.
The display of the phone could measure 6.8 inches when unfolded, with a 3.26-inch external screen. Both of these are expected to be OLED panels.
Leakers say the rear camera setup of the Find N2 Flip will include a 50MP primary shooter and an 8MP ultrawide sensor. The device may get a 4,300mAh battery.
Unfortunately, that’s all we know about the Oppo Find N2 Flip right now. Even these specs should be taken with a hint of salt until Oppo announces something officially.
