Acer launches new convertible Chromebooks and Chromebook tablet

Acer has launched new Chromebooks designed for businesses, consumers and families that provide the latest performance updates and durable MIL-STD 810H designs. These are the Acer Chromebook Spin 714, Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 714 and Acer Chromebook Tab 510.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 714 (CP714-1WN) will be available in North America in August starting at $749.99, and in EMEA in August starting at EUR 879. The Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 714 will be available in North America in August starting at $1,099.99, and in EMEA in August starting at EUR 979.

The Acer Chromebook Tab 510 (D652N/D652NL) will be available in North America in July starting at $399.99.

The India pricing of the products has not yet been revealed.

Acer Chromebook Spin 714 and Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 714

The Acer Chromebook Spin 714 (CP714-1WN) and Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 714 take centre stage as the company’s newest premium Chromebooks.

These Intel Evo platform-verified devices use 12th Gen Intel Core processors (up to Core i7) to tackle demanding tasks such as coding, video editing and gaming, as per Acer.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 714’s aluminium chassis boasts U.S. MIL-STD 810H durability to protect it from dents and drops, and the convertible 360-degree hinges allow it to transform for a variety of settings and uses.

The devices come with a 14-inch touchscreen with 100% sRGB colour range and offer two resolution options: WQXGA (2560×1600 pixels) and WUXGA (1920×1200 pixels), both with antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass to resist stains and odour-causing bacteria. The display has a 16:10 aspect ratio. There is a USI stylus too that provides 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.

Optimised for video conferencing, the Acer Chromebook Spin 714 features a Full HD MIPI webcam with temporal noise reduction technology and a dual-microphone array, with two upward-facing speakers with DTS Audio and a smart amplifier.

Connectivity options in the Acer Chromebook Spin 714 include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, a backlit keyboard and an array of ports including an HDMI port and two Thunderbolt 4 ports. There is an optional fingerprint reader for secure user logins.

As per Acer, the devices can deliver up to 10 hours of battery life or up to four hours of usage after a 30-minute quick charge.

Acer Chromebook Tab 510

Acer also unveiled its new Acer Chromebook Tab 510 (D652N/D652NL). The device meets MIL-STD 810H[3] standards with an impact-resistant chassis, shock-absorbing corner bumpers and a reinforced design to protect it from drops as high as 48 inches.

The tablet features a 10.1-inch IPS WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) full HD display with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Powered by the Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 Compute Platform, users can be always connected with optional 4G LTE, allowing them to stay connected without relying on Wi-Fi. As for the camera, there is a 5MP MIPI front-facing webcam for video calls and an 8MP MIPI world-facing camera for capturing images. Acer claims that the Chromebook Tab 510 can go on for 11 hours on a single charge.

The Acer Chromebook Tab 510 includes a dockable USI stylus featuring 4,096 levels of sensitivity. An optional Keyboard Folio Case is available which allows the device to be used with a notebook-like experience.
