Age of Empire Mobile to arrive soon for Android and iPhone users – Times of India

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Age of Empires, World’s Edge and Xbox Game Studios have announced that the PC-based strategy game will soon arrive on Android and iPhones. A trailer clip on Age of Empires YouTube channel gives a sneak peek into the upcoming mobile version of the game.
Since the teaser of the Age of Empire mobile doesn’t say anything about the gameplay and the date of the game’s arrival on mobile devices, it will be interesting to see how Microsoft reworks this complex PC strategy title into a mobile game.

Age of Empires Mobile – Announce Teaser

Age of Empire: Mobile versions
This is not the first game from the Age of Empire franchise that made its way to mobile devices. Earlier, a real-time strategy game called Age of Empires: World Domination and a tower defence game named Age of Empires: Castle Siege arrived for mobile devices in 2015. However, the mobile version of these games didn’t do well at that time which resulted in Xbox Studios ending World Domination after a year, while Castle Siege was still available for four years before it was finally shut down.

Microsoft and mobile gaming
Earlier this year, Microsoft announced its plans to acquire Activision Blizzard King in a $68.7 billion deal which is expected to complete in 2023. This deal will help the tech giant to foray into the mobile gaming market. Apart from this, the company is also trying to penetrate the mobile gaming market by releasing the mobile version of other franchises like the Age of Empire.

The company’s plan to acquire Activision has been under scrutiny from several countries since its announcement. During a recent investigation, Microsoft also shared its plans to launch a mobile platform for the Xbox store that will compete with Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store. To get it approved, the company explained how this deal will help it to enter the mobile gaming market.
