AirPods Pro 2 users report new audio issues: What is it – Times of India
Most users have reported an audio drifting issue that occurs even when features like Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking are disabled. Some users have also reported syncing problem between each pod while others have complained of an issue with noise cancellation or Adaptive Transparency.
What is audio drifting
Audio drifting occurs in headphones and earbuds when the sound tends to shift between each bud. In such cases, the audio moves back and forth between your ears and may eventually cause the headphone or the earbuds to go out of sync with the videos. Eventually, the audio fails to match the lip movements of the speaker in a video.
AirPods Pro 2 users have reported a mixture of audio drifting and shifting issues along with problems with the volume levels that change automatically.
Spatial Audio with the dynamic head tracking
Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking is designed to follow users’ head movements and create an audio illusion. This feature offers users a feeling where it seems like the audio is coming from all directions.
Audio issues affecting AirPods Pro 2 users
Amongst all the affected users, one of them has found that the audio drifting and shifting issue exists on the new AirPods Pro 2. The user also mentioned that the problem persisted even after features like head tracking or spatial audio were disabled.
Another user reported an issue where the AirPods went out of sync with each other after watching an ad on YouTube that usually plays after every video. It seemed like the sound from one bud of the AirPod Pro 2 was lagging behind the other one. However, the user discovered a temporary workaround where disabling and re-enabling the Spatial Audio got back the sync between the AirPods.
Meanwhile, another user felt that one bud of the AirPods Pro 2 is losing its fit. This problem was echoed by others who also found that the exchanged pair of the AirPods Pro 2 also got the same fitting issue.
Apart from this, some other users have an issue with noise cancellation or Adaptive Transparency on AirPods Pro 2. The user complained about shifting of the sound stage and random volume changes in some frequency ranges. According to the user, some tracks were more impacted than others and thought that external conditions were somehow responsible for it.
Apple has responded to the audio issues that are affecting some AirPods Pro 2 users. However, this issue isn’t affecting all the users and the tech giant is expected to patch the issue with a firmware update soon.
