Airtel, in the press release, explains that Airtel 5G Plus has three advantages for its customers. First, it runs on the widest ‘acceptance’ technology letting all 5G enable phones to use its network. Second, Airtel promises to deliver 20 – 30 times higher speeds than what most of its users use ‘today’ with a better voice calling experience. Lastly, it claims it uses its ‘special power reduction solution’ to be environmentally friendly.

The Pune Lohegaon Airport joins the list of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru (and its Airport), Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur, Varanasi, Panipat, and Gurugram, where Airtel’s 5G services are currently available. The company is rolling out its 5G services in a phased manner, and it continues to construct its network and make it more widespread.
Folks with 5G smartphones can enjoy the high-speed Airtel 5G Plus on their existing data plans at no extra cost. Since the current Airtel 4G SIM supports 5G, there is no need to switch out the SIM with a new one. However, the company says you can use its 5G series on your existing data plans until the rollout is more widespread. This could mean that Airtel could possibly change the data plans’ cost once its “rollout is more widespread.”
