Airtel rolls out 5G service in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar: Details inside

Last week Airtel rolled out its 5G service — Airtel 5G Plus in Hyderabad. The telecom operator has now rolled out Airtel 5G Plus service in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
The company is rolling out its 5G service in a phased manner in the country. The telco has announced that customers with 5G-enabled smartphones can now access the Airtel 5G Plus service in SG Highway, Memnagar, Satellite, Navrangpura, Sabarmati, Motera, Chandkheda, South Bopal, Gomtipur, Memco, Bapunagar in Ahmedabad & Koba, Raysan , Sargasan, DA-IICT, Pethapur and other key locations in Gandhinagar town.
Customers who have 5G smartphones can now enjoy the high-speed Airtel 5G Plus on their existing data plans until the rollout is more widespread. No SIM change is needed as the existing Airtel 4G SIM is 5G enabled. The services are being rolled out in a phased manner as the company continues to construct its network.
Sunil Taldar, director – market operations, Bharti Airtel said, “I am thrilled to announce the launch of Airtel 5G Plus in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Airtel customers can now experience ultrafast network and enjoy speeds upto 20-30 times faster than the current 4G speeds. We are in the process of lighting up the entire city which will allow customers to enjoy superfast access to High-definition video streaming, gaming, multiple chatting, instant uploading of photos and more.”

Airtel has also updated its Thanks app which now allows users to check the 5G compatibility of their smartphone.
