OTT has changed the way Indians view entertainment and this is clear going by the statistics. According to reports, there are currently 350 million OTT users in India, and is projected to reach up to 500 million users by 2025. As more and more users foray into the OTT space, Airtel has brought an all-in-one service that rids the need to have multiple subscriptions. Today, Airtel launched Xtream Premium, an app that will unify as much as 15 OTT services, under a single roof.
The list ranges from global favorites like SonyLIV, ErosNow, Lionsgate Play to local Indian OTTs like Hoichoi, ManoramaMax, Shemaroo, Ultra, HungamaPlay, EPICon, Docubay, DivoTV, Klikk, Nammaflix, Dollywood, and Shorts TV.
Commenting on the launch, Adarsh Nair, CEO – Airtel Digital said: “Airtel Xstream Premium is a game-changing innovation to democratize OTT content in India by solving the key challenges of content discovery, affordability, and distribution. As a unified digital platform, it’s a win-win proposition for customers and OTT players alike as we begin an exciting journey to make digital entertainment mainstream in India.”
Since it is a single app with a single subscription, users can search with its unified content search engine across all the services bundled. This is a relief for those who are juggling multiple subscriptions in their household. The Airtel Xstream Premium is accessible across Mobiles, Tablets, Laptops through the app or web and on the TV through the Xstream set-top-box.
As a part of the introductory offer, Airtel users will be able to take advantage of this service at Rs 149 per month or Rs 1,499 per year.
