Alleged Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra camera sample compared with Galaxy S22 Ultra and Pixel 7 Pro
The texture of the pumpkin image sample is sharper on the Samsung Galaxy S23 when compared to the 2022 Galaxy flagship and it even managed to top the Pixel phone. Rumours suggest the Samsung Galaxy S23 would come with a 200MP primary camera.
Samsung Galaxy S23 camera sample
The Samsung Galaxy S23 camera sample shows the phone will have superior optics but it’s too hard to draw conclusions based on just a single image. However, Samsung appears to be focusing on the optics with its upcoming flagship.
The 2023 flagship is said to get a 200MP primary camera with three shooting modes: 12MP (default), a 50MP secondary lens and a full 200MP mode. The exact resolutions according to Ice Universe are 4,000 x 3,000 pixels resolution, 8,160 x 6,120 pixels resolution and 16,320 x 12,240 pixels resolution. The 16-in-1 binning of a 200MP sensor will result in 12.5MP images. It appears that Samsung seems to be cropping off half a megapixel to touch that 12MP image.
The 200MP sensor is basically the same size as the Galaxy S22 Ultra (108MP, 1/1.33 aperture). However, it will be behind a slightly brighter aperture, f/1.7 vs. f/1.8. While the technical details aside, we’re curious to see how the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra would fare in real-world scenarios.
