Alleged Xiaomi 12 Ultra live image leaks, reveals rear camera module with 7 cutouts

The live image shared on Weibo (via Slashleaks) shows the design is completely different from the other Xiaomi 12 series models. At first glance, one can clearly see the large camera bump taking the centre stage towards the upper stage of the device. The primary sensor is said to be a 1/1.1-inch lens alleged to be the Sony Exmor IMX800.

Xiaomi 12 Ultra live images

The alleged live image shows the Xiaomi 12 Ultra’s camera module. The circular camera module has a total of seven cutouts (excluding LED flash). Two of these will likely house a telephoto and an ultra-wide-angle lens. There could be another zoom lens similar to how Samsung does with its S-series Ultra model. The cylindrical cutout on the right could be for a dual-LED flashlight. After this, we are left with 3/4 unannounced cutouts. The handset can be seen in Green colour and has a leather-like finish on the back. The volume rocker is on the right edge.

Another report from the Chinese website IT Home suggests that Xiaomi 12 Ultra will have seven cutouts and it even has managed to find cases with the exact holes (one a render and another is a live image). According to the report, the camera package will include a 50MP primary camera, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 48MP periscope lens, a LiDAR sensor and others.

The front will house a 48MP selfie snapper. There could be a lens that will support 120X zoom. The report further added that Xiaomi could introduce an in-house image signal processor called the Surging C2 chip similar to OPPO and Vivo.

Xiaomi 12 Ultra specifications

Xiaomi 12 Ultra is said to get a 6.73-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display with 2K resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1+ chip that is manufactured by TSMC instead of Samsung. It is likely to boot Android 12 based MIUI 13 custom skin out of the box, an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, and 5G network support. That’s pretty much everything we know about the Xiaomi 12 Ultra at the moment but we should learn more information soon.
