Amazfit brings NavIC support to GTR 4 and GTS 4 smartwatches in India – Times of India

Smartwatch brand Amazfit has announced NavIC support for its new GT 4 Series smartwatches in India. Both the Amazfit GTR 4 and GTS 4 smartwatches will be NavIC-enabled now.
NavIC is designed by ISRO. India has placed eight satellites in the sky, spanning the whole Indian continent and up to 1,500 kilometres beyond its borders. For India, NavIC position accuracy outperforms GPS and GLONASS.
The industry’s first dual-band circularly polarised GPS antenna technology is now included in Amazfit’s most recent generation of smartwatches. Amazfit claims that the GTR 4 and GTS 4 are now capable of GPS tracking that is up to 99% as accurate as hand-held GPS locators in open-air conditions.
Amazfit GTS 4: Features and specifications
The smartwatch features a 1.75-inch HD AMOLED display with a square dial. The watch offers 200+ watch face selections with matching always-on displays.
The Amazfit GTS 4 has been built with dual-band circularly-polarized GPS antenna technology. It also supports five satellite positioning systems (with a sixth being added in an upcoming firmware update) and can be used to track users’ real-time GPS movement. In future, users will also be able to import route files and navigate them in real-time, directly on the display, says the company.
The smartwatch comes with a 300mAh battery, which, as per the company, can go on for up to 8 days on typical usage.
The Amazfit GTS 4 will support syncing workout data to the Adidas Running app via the Zepp App, after the upcoming Zepp App firmware update version 7.1.0 – with more Amazfit devices adding compatibility at a later date. Data dimensions that can be synchronised include distance, duration, rate, speed, start/end time, etc.
