Amazon and Flipkart have announced their Diwali sales. Amazon calls its annual Diwali sale — Amazon Great Indian festival sale; while its The Big Billion Day sale for Flipkart. These sales coincide with the Navratri season in the country which this year starts from October 7. This time is traditionally the biggest shopping season in the country. People buy products across categories from big appliances to mobiles to grocery to beauty products to fashion and lots more. It’s also the time of biggest discounts and deals being offered both online and offline. Along with discounts, these sales have also become the launchpad for companies to take new products on sale. Samsung, OnePlus, Lenovo, Sony, Boat, Xiaomi and many other brands plan to launch their devices during these sales. While full details are not available yet, both Amazon and Flipkart have given sneak peek into their upcoming festive sale. Sale dates: Amazon Great Indian festival sale to start earlier
Amazon Great Indian festival sale will starts October 4th, while Flipkart’s Big Billion Day sale will start on October 7 and run till October 12. Amazon so far has not announced how long the Great Indian festival sale will run. In 2020, Amazon Great Indian festival sale ran for almost a month, starting October 17 (a day earlier for Amazon Prime members).

Amazon has partnered with HDFC Bank to offer a 10 percent instant discount to customers making purchases using HDFC Bank debit and credit cards as well as EMI transactions. The Flipkart sale will offer 10 percent instant discount to buyers making purchases using Axis Bank and ICICI Bank credit or debit cards.

Deals on Amazon Pay and Paytm
Flipkart will offer buyers assured cashback on wallet and UPI transactions through Paytm. Amazon has said that customers can save up to Rs 5,000 during the sale by making payments of their utility bills, ticket bookings and sending money using Amazon Pay.
