Amazon is testing Prime Lite: Price, benefits and what to expect – Times of India

Amazon is reportedly testing a new Prime membership plan called Prime Lite for its customers. The new membership costs Rs 999 and it is significantly cheaper than the regular Prime members priced at Rs 1,499. In terms of features, Prime Lite offers almost similar benefits as the regular Prime membership. However, Amazon has made some changes to bring the price down to Rs 999. Amazon Prime Lite: Benefits
Free Delivery
Prime Lite membership comes with free delivery benefits which include One-Day, Two-Day, Scheduled and Same-Day deliveries. In addition to this, the plan also comes with No-Rush shipping to eligible addresses and Rs 25 cashback.
Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card
As a part of Prime Lite membership, Amazon is offering 5% cash back on purchases made on the Amazon India website using an Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card.
Digital and Gift Card purchases are exempt because they earn 2% back, in addition to rewards everywhere else you shop.
Prime Early Access & exclusive deals
Prime Lite membership includes early access to lightning deals on the Amazon India website. Along with this, users will also be able to access Prime-exclusive lightning deals, deals of the day and more.
Prime Reading
Amazon Prime Lite membership also offers the option to borrow eBooks, comics and more from the Prime reading catalogue.
Amazon Prime Video
The biggest change in benefits between the regular Prime and Prime Lite membership lies in the Prime Video benefits.
As a part of Prime Lite membership, Amazon is offering its users access to unlimited video streaming on Prime Video including the latest movies, Amazon Originals, Live sports, TV shows, but with ads. In addition, only two screens are allowed that too in Standard Definition (SD) with Prime Lite membership.
Also, Prime Lite membership only allows users to stream shows and movies from Prime Video on Android and iOS apps, the web browsers aren’t supported.
Prime Music
Prime Lite membership does not include an Amazon Music subscription. This means users, won’t be able to listen to the songs using the Amazon Prime Music app with this plan.
