An unopened first iPhone from 2007 is up for auction: All the details

Apple launched its first iPhone in 2007. Now an unopened iPhone from 2007 is up for auction in the United States at an expected price of $50,000. The iPhone is owned by Karen Green who received it as a gift from her friends in 2007.
In an interview given to AppleInsider, Green revealed that she got the iPhone in 2007 as a gift from her friends after she got a new job. She revealed that during that time she was already using three phone lines and the carrier compatibility issue prevented her from using the iPhone.
The auction is being organised by LCG Auctions and it will run till February 19. “In 2019, Green had the phone appraised with an estimated value of $5,000, so she decided to hold onto the phone for a few years. Green is now selling the iPhone, which is anticipated to sell for more than $50,000, to help finance her business,” added the report.
This is not the first time that an iPhone is being auctioned. In October last year, a factory-sealed iPhone was sold for $39,340.

Apple to soon open its retail store in India
Recently, Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed that the tech giant will soon bring its retail store to India. Apple is expected to open two stores in India — in New Delhi and Mumbai. Speculation suggests that the Apple Store in Mumbai will be a “flagship” store whereas New Delhi could get a smaller store.
Apple has been hiring for its Retail arm in India for the last several months. There were job listings for Apple Retail for “several locations”, which indicates that there will be more than one Apple Store coming to India. In fact, it was expected that the first Apple Store would have come earlier but the Covid-19 pandemic put a spanner in the works.
