NEW DELHI: Tech giant Google released the first beta of Android 12 at its annual developer conference I/O 2021 last month. The company has also rolled out the second beta of the latest version of its Android operating system. The Beta 2 of Android 12 brings new privacy features like the Privacy Dashboard. Along with this, the Beta 2 also brings feature updates which claim to improve stability, performance and functionality.
Beta 2 also brings Passpoint update for developers, wallpaper-based Material You Themes, new power button in quick settings, quick tap that allows you to double tap the fingerprint sensor and perform various functions.
Presently, Android 12 Beta 2 is available for Google Pixel smartphones. Users can download the update manually from the Android developer website. The company has already announced that Beta 3 will be released in July followed by Beta 4 in August.
Privacy Dashboard
Privacy Dashboard offers a single view into your permissions settings as well as what data is being accessed, how often and by which apps. It also lets you easily revoke app permissions right from the dashboard.
Microphone and camera indicator
Android 12 Beta 2 brings a new indicator located on the top right of the status bar. This will allow the users to know when any of the apps are accessing their microphone or camera. Users can also remove the app access to these sensors for the entire system.
Clipboard read notification
The feature informs users when apps are reading from the clipboard. Android 12 will display the information at the bottom of the screen every time an app is reading.
Better connectivity experience
Android 12 is bringing a simple and intuitive connectivity experience which will help users in managing their network connections in a better way. The new Internet Panel of the operating system will allow users to switch between their Internet providers and troubleshoot network connectivity issues easily.
