Apex Legends’ Xbox troubles are getting over, here’s how

It can be said with certainty that Apex Legends has given Xbox Series X|S players plenty of headaches over the last two weeks with the game suffering from input lag troubles after a massive content update. The update, called The Awakening Collection Event, caused the controller support in the Xbox consoles to break down and work erratically, with the controls becoming laggy and even unresponsive quite often.
Now, in a major relief to players of the battle royale game, that trouble is getting over. Respawn Entertainment has rolled out a fix in the form of a small update to address the issue of the slow input. With this, here’s hoping everyone will be able to register button presses normally, with no delay or unresponsiveness. The game developer and publisher announced the fix in a tweet that says: “We just pushed a small update to @PlayApex to help address issues with input lag on Xbox Series X and S consoles. Thank you for your patience here, legends.”

Xbox Series X console players, especially those using Microsoft‘s Elite gamepads, were hit the hardest by the game issue, as per an earlier report by The Verge. The issue is reportedly described as a “combination of lag, as well as failed input detection that can make it hard to do things like use burst fire weapons, change directions, or even pick up items from the ground.”
The Awakening Collection Event, which arrived on June 22, added a new building called Lifeline’s Clinic and also brought back the Control mode with new features. It also brought 24 themed, limited-time cosmetics.
