apple: Apple could launch new, redesigned MacBook Pro models with mini LED in Q3 2021, claims tech analyst – Times of India
Tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, in a new research note obtained by 9To5Mac, has claimed that new, redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models will enter mass production in Q3 2021. Apple introduced a mini LED display with the 12.9-inch iPad Pro this year. The analyst says that Apple plans to adopt the mini-LED display for its future products including the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, hence the investment, though the MacBook Air could launch only next year.
Kuo predicts that the new MacBook Pro will come in a “flat-edged design”, something similar to what has been seen on the latest iMac, iPad Pro and iPhone 12. The company will also introduce more ports to the new Pro laptop models like the HDMI port, an SD card slot and even MagSafe, claims Kuo. Apple could also put in the M1X chip, the more powerful version of the M1 chip, in the MacBook Pro.
Kuo claims are corroborated by those made by tipster Dylandkt when it comes to the M1X chip and the probable launch time of the MacBook Air models. The leaker claims that a completely redesigned MacBook Air model powered by the M2 chip is on track and would arrive in the first half of 2022. He also mentioned the M1X chip which, as per him, is being kept reserved for the high-end Pro Mac models like the MacBook Pro and the iMac. Reliable tipster Jon Prosser has also hinted at something similar earlier, saying that the upcoming MacBook Air would come with an M2 chip, a new design and new colour options much like those with the iMac.
