What are the new costs of replacing battery?
According to a report by Apple Insider, Apple said, “The current out-of-warranty battery service fee will apply until the end of February 2023. Effective March 1, 2023, the out-of-warranty battery service fee will be increased by $20 for all iPhone models prior to iPhone 14.” The battery replacement cost of any iPhone that comes with a Home button has been hiked from $49 to $69. For iPhone X and later models, the cost is now $99.
The cost of replacing the battery of a MacBook Air will increase by $30. On the MacBook Pro, it has been increased by $50.
For the iPad, the prices of battery replacement will be the same as earlier. In the case of the latest 12.9-inch iPad Pro, the cost of battery replacement is $179. Similarly for the 4th-gen iPad Pro (11-inch) is still $149.
Do keep in mind that for users who have AppleCare+ will not be affected by the price hike. Or if you have an iPhone or MacBook which is under warranty, then also you don’t have to pay the hiked costs. Also, it is not clear whether the price hike of battery replacement is applicable only in the US or for other regions only. The replacement cost or repair costs for the iPhone or Mac varies from region to region.
