Apple iPhone event: What to expect:
Rumours have been flying thick and fast about what Apple could unveil today. It is expected that four new iPhones will arrive today. Noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that the storage capacity of the iPhones is set to reach 1TB this year with the Pro models. Both the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro are expected to offer up to 1TB storage, making them the first iPhones to offer this much onboard storage. As for the non-Pro models — iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini — one can expect the storage to be the same as the iPhone 12 duo, ie, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.
New AirPods are expected to arrive
Apple is said to launch the third-generation AirPods on September 14 and not the second generation of AirPods Pro, as per Kuo. However, the new AirPods are likely to offer a design that is similar to that of AirPods Pro.
Due to this, Kuo believes that the AirPods lineup may follow either of the two courses after the launch of new AirPods. In the first case, Kuo says Apple may launch the third-generation AirPods at a price higher than the current second-generation AirPods, thereby keeping the existing model in the line. Or, Apple may reduce the price of the existing AirPods and replace them with the third-generation AirPods at the $199 price point.
Apple plans to keep the second-generation AirPods in the lineup as there may still be customers who prefer the older design, as per Kuo
Apple Watch Series 7
Since the design change is on the table, Kuo suggests that Apple was facing production issues. Because of this, there was a delay in mass-producing the new models but Apple seems to have resolved the issue.
Thus, the mass production of panel modules is now set to begin in mid-September. He also adds that Luxshare, Apple’s supplier is “aggressively duplicating production lines” with an aim to make the Watch Series 7 to be widely available in mid to late October.
