apple: Apple will soon make these three MacBooks obsolete

Apple routinely puts older products in the “vintage” and “obsolete” categories. A report by MacRumors reveals that Apple will soon add three products to its obsolete list of products. The report, citing an internal memo, states that from April 30, three MacBook models will become obsolete. The MacBook models which will become obsolete include MacBook Air (11-inch, Early 2014), MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014), and MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2014).
What are obsolete Apple products?
When it comes to obsolete devices, Apple explains that “Products are considered obsolete when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than 7 years ago.” In other words, you don’t get any updates and in addition to that Apple will not repair or service them at all. In fact, even service providers cannot order parts for obsolete products.
So it’s not a surprise to see these MacBook models added to the obsolete list of Apple products.
The MacBook Air used to come in 11-inch and 13-inch variants. However, in 2016, Apple officially discontinued the 11-inch variant and stopped selling it. The 13-inch MacBook Air continues to thrive and is the only display size it comes in. Rumours, however, are rife about Apple launching a bigger variant of the MacBook Air.
Noted Apple tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that Apple could launch a MacBook Air in a new form factor in the third quarter of 2022. Kuo also said that the upcoming MacBook Air won’t have a mini LED display.
Other rumours have also suggested that the 2022 MacBook Air could look a lot like the latest generation MacBook Pro models. The design of the MacBook Pro was changed by Apple in late 2021 giving it a different look. The MacBook Air could also come in a variety of colours, as per reports.
