apple: Apple’s new iPhone OS update also has ‘good news’ for Apple Watch users – Times of India

Getting an Apple Watch repaired in case of any firmware related issue has been tough. For users were required to take it to the authorised service center. This seems to have changed with the latest iOS and WatchOS updates. With iOS 15.4 and watchOS 8.5 updates, the company has introduced a new tool that allows users to restore their Apple Watch firmware using an iPhone.
The tool helps users to fix their Apple Watch in case they are facing any software-related issues like the Watch getting stuck during the update process or it stops working all of a sudden or even if it crashes for some reason. Apple has also updated its Watch support page with this information. It tells users what they need to do in case they face any similar software issue. The same page earlier recommended users to visit the company’s authorised service centre.
Also, if for some reason your Apple Watch stops working during the update process, an alert will appear on users’ iPhone asking them to restore the Apple Watch. Below are the important steps Apple suggests:
* Make sure that an iPhone is nearby. The iPhone needs to have iOS 15.4 or later, it needs to be connected to Wi-Fi with Bluetooth turned on, and it needs to be unlocked.
* Put your Apple Watch on its charger
* Double-click the side button (the button below the circular Digital Crown) on your Apple Watch
* Now follow the steps that appear on your iPhone
Apple also tells users to check their Wi-Fi in cases these steps don’t work for them. “Try using a 2.4GHz network instead of 5GHz, and make sure that you’re not on a captive or 802.1X network,” says the company on the support page.
