Apple AR/VR headset launch delay may be due to software-related issues: Report – Times of India
Apple AR/VR headset: Expected details
Kuo expects Apple to introduce the AR/VR headset at WWDC 2023 (which usually happens around June) if it is not officially announced in early 2023. The analyst also expects the company to open up its Software Development Kit (SDK) at the same time. SDKs will help developers to create AR/VR apps for the device.
The mass shipments for the components of the AR/VR device are likely to start in the first half of 2023, claims Kuo. However, Apple might not start shipping the fully assembled device until the second half of the year. Kuo predicts that this will result in a delayed launch even if Apple announces the Mixed Reality headset in early 2023.
Kuo also expects that the upcoming Apple AR/VR device will arrive with an expensive price tag. He also predicts that the company may ship less than 500,000 units in 2023. More details about the product’s pricing and features are expected to surface in the coming days.

Previously, Kuo claimed that Apple might announce its Mixed Reality headset at a media event in January 2023 and may begin mass shipments in the second quarter of the year. The report also doesn’t clarify if the delay in shipments would push back the announcement date of the device.
